Thanksgiving Recipes:

     Green Beans with Almonds

     Ingredients:

          1/2 pound of green beans or 9-ounce frozen cut or French-styled green beans
          2 Tbsp. slivered almonds
          1 Tbsp. margarine or butter
          1 teas. lemon juice

     Directions:
  1. Cut fresh beans into 1-inch pieces (for French-style, cut lengthwise). Cook, covered, in a small amount of boiling water for 20 to 25 minutes (10 to 12 minutes for French-style) or till crisp tender. Cook frozen beans according to directions on the package.
  2. Drain.
  3. Cook and stir almonds in margarine or butter over medium heat until golden brown.
  4. Remove from heat.
  5. Stir in lemon juice.
  6. Stir almond mixture into beans. Makes 3 servings.
