Thanksgiving

Applesauce |

Ingredients: |
3-pounds cooking apples - I prefer Cortland apples |
1 cup of water |
2/3 cup brown sugar (usually recipes call for regular sugar but the brown sugar is what
gives this recipe the apple pie flavor) |
1/4 teas. of ground cinnamon |

Directions: |
- Peel, core and quarter the apples.
- Combine all the ingredients into a large pot
or dutch oven.
- Bring to boiling and reduce the heat.
- Cover and simmer for 8 to 10 minutes or
until tender, adding more water as necessary. You can mash the mixture with a potato
masher or put through a food processor to make smooth, we prefer the apple chunks.
- Serve warm or chilled.
